Why Event Operators Are Switching to Modular Bar Units

Why Event Operators Are Switching to Modular Bar Units

If you've ever tried to build a temporary bar for an event, you'll know the drill. Marquees, generators, plumbing runs, a week of setup, and a team crossing their fingers it all holds up under a Friday night crowd. It works, but it's slow, expensive, and rarely looks the part.

That's the gap BoxKitchen's Bar unit was built to close.

Built for Volume, Not Just Looks

Our Bar is a fully electric 20ft hi-cube container, converted into a working bar with a 16ft service frontage. That width matters more than people expect. A wider bar opening means more staff can serve at once, queues move faster, and you can actually handle a festival crowd or a matchday rush without a bottleneck at the taps.

Inside, it's built the way a working bar should be. Stainless steel surfaces, chilled storage, beer pumps and cooler, an upright bottle fridge, cocktail station with ice wells, and a proper sink and hand wash setup. No gas connection needed. Just 63 amp power and you're trading.

No Two-Week Setup

Traditional bar builds can take weeks between planning, delivery, and fit-out. Our units arrive ready to trade. Delivery is scheduled, the unit lands on-site, and with power connected, you're serving. For events on tight lead times, or landlords who need a bar live before the next fixture, that speed is the whole point.

Where It Works

We've deployed Bar units across some of the biggest footfall events in the UK calendar, from raceways to festival fields to JV landlord sites. A few environments where it earns its keep:

  • Festivals and outdoor events, where high throughput and fast service make or break the day
  • Stadiums and raceways, serving thousands of fans in tight windows around fixtures
  • Branded activations, where the unit itself becomes part of the experience
  • JV landlord sites, adding a permanent or semi-permanent bar without a full construction project

Your Brand, Not Ours

Every Bar unit can be fully wrapped and branded to match your identity, whatever that looks like. We've built units for national names and independent operators alike, and the container itself becomes part of the branding rather than sitting behind it.

Rent or Buy

Bar units are available on rental terms across off-peak and peak seasons, or as an outright purchase for operators who want a unit as part of their permanent estate. Either way, it's delivered fully fitted and ready to go.
